RealBlackfoot exists to support Indigenous communities in protecting cultural knowledge, strengthening historical understanding, and advancing community-driven research. 

Our vision is to ensure that Indigenous knowledge, histories, and cultural landscapes are respected and protected through ethical research, collaborative engagement, and

Our Vision

Real Blackfoot is led by Juanita R. Tallman, a member of the Blackfoot Confederacy with family connections to the Blood Tribe and Blackfeet Nation.

Juanita is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Forensic and Biological Anthropology at the University of Montana. Her work focuses on Indigenous history, cultural heritage, and interdiscipl

As projects grow, RealBlackfoot collaborates with Indigenous researchers, community knowledge holders, and interdisciplinary specialists to ensure projects are guided by both cultural knowledge and academic expertise.
