RealBlackfoot provides culturally grounded researcher, heritage consulting, and interdisciplinary analysis supporting Indigenous governments, organizations, and institutions. Our work brings together academic research, cultural knowledge, and community-centered approaches to strengthen Indigenous governance, protect cultural heritage and support community priorities.
RealBlackfoot is led by Juanita R. Tallman, a Blackfoot research and graduate student in Forensic and Biological Anthropology at the University of Montana.
RealBlackfoot works to support Indigenous communities in protecting cultural knowledge, strengthening historical understanding, and advancing community-driven research. Our vision is to ensure that Indigenous knowledge systems, cultural landscapes, and histories are respected and protected through ethical research, collaborative engagement, and culturally grounded approaches. By bridging Indigenous knowledge with academic research and professional consulting, RealBlackfoot contributes to work that supports communities today while preserving knowledge for future generations.
RealBlackfoot approaches each project through principles of respect, collaboration, and ethical engagement. Our work prioritizes Indigenous knowledge systems, community authority, and transparent research practices. Projects are developed in partnership with communities and organizations to ensure that research and consulting efforts align with local priorities, cultural protocols, and long-term community goals.
RealBlackfoot provides research and consulting services supporting Indigenous communities, organizations, and institutions. Areas of work include Indigenous research support, cultural heritage and historical research, community engagement and knowledge gathering, and interdisciplinary research connecting Indigenous knowledge with academic methods. Our services support culturally informed decision-making and strengthen the protection and understanding of Indigenous heritage.
Juanita R. Tallman is a Blackfoot researcher and graduate student in Forensic and Biological Anthropology at the University of Montana. Her work focuses on Indigenous histories, cultural heritage, and interdisciplinary research connecting anthropology with Indigenous knowledge systems.
